Splish-Splash!
We took Greta and Isla to the pool this afternoon for some Sunday entertainment. Everyone else must have thought that was a good idea too because it was packed. I believe Mason used the term "organized chaos", but the girls had fun none the less. This was Greta's first time in the pool and she did so well. She loves to splash and kick her legs and she's just entertained by everything that's going on. Needless to say I couldn't get her to look at the camera, too many other distractions, but Isla was all about the photo, as you can see. It's also nice for us because Greta fell asleep in the car and Isla went right to her room for a nap when we got home. As I'm typing this I'm enjoying the silence of our quiet home. I'm pretty sure Mason is laying on the couch downstairs. It will be so great when the weather starts to get warmer and we can venture outside again for activities. Isla asked me today when summer was coming so she could wear shorts again. I guess we're all a little anxious for some nice weather. Enjoy the photos!

Chiropractor
Well, we finally figured out what the deal was with Noah the last couple days. Seriously, when are we going to learn? We finally realized we hadn't been to the chiropractor in about a month! ...and it took Noah shrugging his shoulders with a pained look on his face to tells us. So off we went the other day and since then, Noah has been the happiest kid ever. He just was feeling out of whack! Every time we go and see the difference I am again amazed at the wonder they can do for him with such little effort (but such great knowledge). What a great chiropractor we have and I can't imagine how people live with kids like Noah was last week. Augh. And then to know it's so easy to change that by just getting the kid to feel good. Amazing!

swimming lessons
Isla has been in swimming lessons the last few weeks. Tonight was actually her last night, so I figured I should get some pictures of her in action. She did well and sure does love the water. She is very excited about Greta getting in the water with her soon. It won't be long before Mason is in the water with all the girls!

Noah is about 14 months now. Although many of Noah's days seems to be tough ones lately, when he IS happy, he's so much fun to be around. He's full of giggles and smiles. Unfortunately when he's not, oh boy do you know it! We can't quite figure out if it's teeth or something else (not enough sleep, etc.) I always think it's teeth but then look for a new one and nope, nothing yet (although I guess they say they hurt worse when they are moving, before they break the surface. Who knows. Not me, that's for sure). Noah got his first chance at playing in the snow recently. Lord knows we have enough of it available to him. :) He didn't really know what to do and kept falling over, unable to get back up in his giant snowsuit. I think he enjoyed the new experience though. I'm looking into a kiddie sled so we can go for some walks down the street on nicer days.
Otherwise we frequent the MN Zoo every other week or so (big thanks to the Hastads/Spechts for the membership for Noah's birthday) with my friend Sally and her son, Ethan (the other picture). The last time I think Noah actually looked at the fish, etc. instead of just the other people there. :) It's fun and gets us out of the house for a bit. I can't wait for spring/summer when we can see what the rest of the zoo has to offer!

Little Laker Playschool
Isla started Little Laker Playschool this week at the high school. This is a preschool for 3-5 year olds put on by our Child Development class. The kids come on Wednesdays and Fridays for about 2 hours. So on those days, Isla gets to ride to work with me, which she thinks is just fabulous. Then about 10:15am either Mason or I bring her back to Kim's for the rest of the day. I am so thankful we both have jobs that allow us to do this for her. She loves it and every day asks "do I have school tomorrow?" This will go through March, and hopefully I'll have more to report.

Greta is 5 months
Well Greta is growing, growing, growing. She's up to 17lbs now and lots of fun. She likes to giggle and smile, especially at Isla, which makes her very happy too. She's starting to roll, but hasn't mastered the concept yet. We're still working on it. She loves her exersaucer, as you can see in this picture.
